• The local authority does have a duty to investigate abandoned vehicles as laid on within the Refuse and Disposal Amenity Act (Amenity Act) 1978, Section 99 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and the Removal and Disposal of Vehicle (England) Regulations 2002 as amended. Where it appears to a local authority that a motor vehicle in their area is abandoned without lawful authority on any land in the open air or on any other land forming part of a highway or road it shall be the duty of the authority, subject to the following provisions of this section, to remove the vehicle. However, the vehicle FX73ONP at Coggles Causeway, Bourne, is not deemed abandoned under this legislation for the following reason(s): The vehicle has a current excise license /MOT. However, if the vehicle is still at the location in three months please recontact us and we will review the case. If you believe that the vehicle is parked dangerously or causing and obstruction, then you may wish to contact the police regarding this concern.
